What is Boudoir Photography?
Boudoir photography has changed a lot over the last few years. One of the things I love about it is seeing women find their own beauty and confidence that was there all along. It really can be transformational! I’ve been drawn to boudoir photography for ages – light skimming feminine curves is beautiful to me – tasteful, understated, and elegant. So, what is boudoir photography?
What Does Boudoir Mean?
The word ‘boudoir’ means ‘bedroom’ and traditional boudoir has become synonymous with wearing lingerie (or, less clothes in general) and being in a bedroom. But things are changing and this is exciting! Boudoir photography will always be a celebration of the gorgeous female form, just as artists and sculptors have celebrated it for centuries. But modern boudoir is less about lingerie and more about YOU.
Modern Boudoir Photography
Modern boudoir photography is about celebrating the woman you are and the woman you are becoming – I want to capture your energy and vibe. I want to help you see yourself differently, to help shift your perspective. It doesn’t have to be in a bedroom, but it can be if you want. It could be against a plain wall or backdrop, so all the focus is on you. Or perhaps you like a light and airy look with light streaming in from behind for beautiful semi-silhouettes. You don’t have to wear a matching set if you don’t want to (but if you do, you rock it out!!) If a favourite oversized t-shirt or cosy wrap cardigan are more your thing, then that’s fine by me. No need for stilettos, unless you want them. It’s about so much more than that. Let’s find your soul confidence together…
Boudoir Photoshoot
In essence, my answer to the question ‘what is boudoir photography?’ – is that it’s all about being comfortable and confident in your own skin. That’s priceless! Confidence is the new sexy and I want to liberate you from the false, distorted body image you’ve been dragging around for too long. I want to help you change the way you see yourself…
